Tulsa Coronavirus and Court

It’s no secret that COVID-19 has affected the way things in the legal system are being handled. This doesn’t mean that everything has just been thrown out the window though. Tulsa Coronavirus and court system procedures have merely changed the way things are going. If you have an ongoing case, you may need to contact your attorney about what it means for you.

Dates Are Being Changed

Many cases are seeing long delays in between dates. Some court dates are seeing continuances for up to 3 months or more. The best way to stay on top of when your next court date is, is to contact the court clerks office in your area. They will have all of the updated court minutes showing when judges are reconvening. This has been helpful with social distancing and keeping court rooms from being too crowded.

Video Court and Blue Jeans

Blue Jeans is the name of the online system many courthouses are using to conduct online hearings. This has been extremely convenient for not only defendants, but also their attorneys. In many cases you can simply go to your lawyers office and see the judge from a computer. No need for special distancing practices or wearing a mask, keeping you safe from the coronavirus. Before each court date, the judge will give a special code to your lawyer. Your lawyer will then use this code to log in to the Blue Jeans app and have a secured connection with the judge.
